Travel agency name as many-as-12,000 names have been handed over to police as the investigation into the death of a Polish woman continues.
In the first indication of how serious the probe is, a letter has been sent to Polish authorities, informing them that names have already been handed to the police and that all those named in the letter will be questioned.
The names have not been released to the public yet, but Polish media have said it is the most names the probe has handed over so far.
The travel agency was set up by Mariya Travel Agency in the city of Gdansk in eastern Poland.
Mariya Travel has been linked to several deaths, including that of the wife of a former Polish president.
The agency was taken over by a group of lawyers, lawyers and the daughter of a well-known lawyer.
The group is trying to bring the agency to justice.
In a statement, a lawyer for Mariya said the travel agency’s management was aware of the problems and had taken steps to rectify them, including “ceasing the illegal conduct”.
The agency is currently under investigation by the police for alleged money laundering, corruption and breach of trust.
The police have refused to comment.
