Travel agencies across the country are charging the most to book a trip, a new survey finds.
The survey of more than 7,000 travel agents in the U.S. found that travel agents were charging the highest prices for domestic flights, including for the first leg of the trip.
Travel agencies in the top 10 also charged the highest rates for flights to the Caribbean and Africa.
The survey also found that many travel agents charge for the same tickets and stays on a single flight as well as for additional tickets and amenities, including meals and entertainment.
Travel agents in areas with higher average incomes also were charged more for flights, the survey found.
In a statement, the travel agency group said its travel agents offer customers access to travel that is convenient, affordable and safe.
They offer a variety of transportation options including bus, car, and train.
